Not sure why anyone would have a problem paying Lampard, Yaya is currently on what well over 200k by now(yearly rise and champs league bonus is probably a joke wage by now). This is a guy who has only scored over 10 once since 06/07, has never broken 10 assists, has the fitness of a dead donkey(okay not quite but he's frequently significantly worse post 60 mins into a game) and is actually not very good defensively, particularly when he tires out.
Lampard is better defensively, better offensively, fitter despite his age and is currently paid way way less than Yaya. Age has crap all to do with it, injury wise Lampard has had 3 "injury" hit seasons and has made 39+ appearances in all of them.
Ultimately you pay less to an ageing player if he isn't performing anymore, not because they are old. As for getting Sneijder over Lampard...... lol, a guy who rarely scores, rarely assists, rarely bothers to turn up AND gets paid way more than Lampard.
Lampard will almost certainly score more, assist more and put in significantly better performances than Sneijder

In fairness, a lot of it is down to niggling injuries. Sneijder has missed 43% of Inter's games since 2010. His last appearance was against Chievo two months ago when, as mentioned above, he tore a muscle.
Inter have learned to play successfully without him. When Sneijder was out last season, rather than suffer in his absence they won seven games in a row. His return to the starting lineup against Lecce coincided with the end of that run. Inter then only won one of their next 10 and Claudio Ranieri got the sack.
A similar trend has occurred this season. When Sneijder came off injured in the 26th minute of Inter's trip to Chievo, the score was 0-0. His replacement, Antonio Cassano, was among the goalscorers in a 2-0 win and it was the beginning of another streak as Inter racked up 10 straight victories in all competitions.
Although Inter have lost three of their past four, few believe Sneijder would be the answer to their problems. He is a luxury. Since 2010, Inter have won 66.7% of games without him. Their average possession and pass completion rate is lower, yet they also average more goals per game (1.97 compared to 1.52), have a greater percentage of shots on target (47.11% to 43.61%) and see more of their shots converted into goals (17.11% to 11.84%) than with him in the team. In short, they're more balanced and effective. Guys such as Cassano, Rodrigo Palacio, Philippe Coutinho and Ricky Alvarez are happy rotate. They won't throw a strop as Sneijder did when he was hauled off against Torino in mid-September.
Currently his playing tends to coincide with Inter being unable to hit the target, win, or play well, and without him their managers don't get sacked, he's a primadonna, MASSIVELY overpaid, produces next to nothing and has had one "great" season in his career, which also involved a massive overspend by Mourinho on a team that has half ruined the club financially, with vastly better players around him he looked more effective.
In the treble season he scored 4 goals in 84 shots/26 games in the league, 6 assists, in the UCL run he got a massive... 3 goals, 6 assists isn't bad though, still 32 shots which is worse than 1 in 10, better than the 1 in 21 shots in the league though.
Year after, 4 goals in 107 shots, 3 in 43 in the CL, year after that 4 in 78 shots, 0 in 9 shots in the CL, this year 1 goal in 21 shots total.
He's "meh" at best, with a terrible goals to shots ratio, few actual goals, not many assists, and gets paid more than anyone else in the league.
In their treble winning year he was the 4th highest scorer, he was joint top assister, Maicon got the same assists in all comps(12) and one less goal taking almost half as many shots. Milito scored 4 times as many goals with 3 less shots. Sneijder is lazy, selfish and really simply not very good. Lampard will be excellent in 8/10 games, and only good in the other two, Sneijder will be excellent in 1/20 games, good in another 2 or 3, and completely useless in the rest.
