January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

Spurs fans here?

Slightly concerned that we will be well short if we don't get a striker in this window. With Defoe being the only senior player, if he gets injured we are screwed. Dempsey can fill in, but he's not exactly an out an out striker and that still only leaves us with just him as choice.

With Ade away at ACN and the way he's been playing this season, he's not exactly a good backup!

Get that feeling we're going to burn out like the last couple of seasons

Coloccini has handed in a transfer request due to being homesick.

What is it with Argentinians not liking life in this country and abandoning their teams? There were rumours at the start of the season that he had gone awol. And now this. I was actually looking through pictures recently at the training ground and he wasn't in any of the photos...

Bad news for Newcastle

Looks like its true :/ he been poor the season tbh but what type of transfer fee will be involved? Doubt it be very much.

Douglas is a must now.

Douglas isn't good enough to do a job straight away. Unfortunately we are going to need a top quality premiership defender in straight away.

This is very very bad news. Colo has been off par this season, but you don't get voted into the PFA team of the year for nothing. He will be a huge miss.

This is very troubling times for Newcastle. With our star striker gone, and we not look likely to lose our captain and best defender.

''In January 2009, River Plate offered Falcao to Aston Villa for £7m. Martin O'Neill decided to go with Emile Heskey instead.
INTERESTING !''

just read that on a fb page. any truth in that?

Sigh, business as usual for Arsenal

Wenger said:
“We have two targets,” he added. “The first is to get the players who are inside the club signed up and the second is to get our injuries back. We have (Tomas) Rosicky available again now, (Abou) Diaby is available again and if you look at our squad it is quite a complete squad.

“We still work on the transfer market, of course, but we do not want to bring in average (players). We only want to bring in exceptional players and, at the moment, we have not found them. At the moment, nobody can leave unless we buy somebody. Our focus is to keep everybody. In every position we have two players. Three is too many and one is not enough.”

I actually thought he was going to buy someone of note this window, when will i learn......

What do these football managers know eh?

Good old honest pro Heskey who will lumber around the pitch and help out defend corners and score 9 in 92 matches.

Or a player who since 2009 has scored 83 goals in 101 matches.

Thats wrong actually, in all competitions since the start of the 09 season Falcao has scored - 128 in a 154 apps.

Don't forget though, according to some we can't possibly have made a better decision than anyone inside football... otherwise we'd all be managers right... I really do love it when people make that argument. Footballers, managers, they automatically would make better decisions than us mere mortals.

retrospect is a wonderfull thing

It is wonderful, but can you honestly say you'd have paid anything for Heskey at that time in his career?

Hindsight is great, but how many times on here do we say something is a mistake BEFORE it happens? There would be few if any people on this forum who would think Heskey was a good buy, and more to the point, I can't possibly imagine than Falcao wouldn't have looked freaking awesome on scouting video back then, even if he did, Heskey was still a horrendous mistake, an obvious mistake that would never work and was ridiculed at the time by most.

I won't say anything bad about O'neill not buying Falcao, its possible scouting video or maybe 2-3 games that O'neill saw had him playing crap, or not seeing the potential, or a dodgy deal being pushed. But its not Heskey or Falcao, its Falcao or any other striker in the world, and he still chose Heskey. Falcao might have been an awful decision or might not have been, buying Heskey WAS a completely awful decision and most people could see that before he did it, not years later.

Dunno, if Arsenal fans turned on Wenger 4 years ago(a reasonable amount of time to offer a previously successful Wenger to get back to winning ways) then we'd be in far better shape.

AS always everything Wenger says points to the problem that I keep mentioning. Its not that Arsenal can't afford to buy, or can't find better players, its that Wenger actually see's Diaby and Rosicky as so good its not worth buying anyone else, and that is beyond Wenger's inability to realise they won't ever play a full meaningful season to help Arsenal.

Wenger can't recognise good/crap players any more, he thinks Diaby will be able to effect a title race, he can't because he's not good enough and even if he was he wouldn't play more than 1/4 of a season. A WORSE player who could play 50 games a season would do more for Arsenal, we can get far far better players for 60k a week who can play 50 games a season.

Arsenal's problem begins and end's with Wenger, even today with the squad we have, we can put out a better team, if we sell 3-4 players and buy 3-4 players(left/right back, DM and a real winger) we can massively effect the team for the better, Wenger will never do this. He's randomly found a way to praise Gibb's in the past couple days saying he improves with every game........... has Gibbs been responsible for more goals we've conceded than everyone else, but he's improving every game, Wenger's become a complete joke now :(

Coloccini asking to leave Newcastle, things definitely aren't looking too rosy there at the moment.

Colo wants off, all over BBC news.

Not wanting to be smug but I did tell all you other Toon fans the Argie ***** wasn't interested this year. Get rid.

Suarez future with us is apparantly only safe if we get Champs League football which tbh we wont this year, i honestly wouldnt be surprised if he left in the summer for a club in europe.

I know he is hated by most fans and people on this board but i bet any team would have him, I really wouldnt want him to leave. We have also apparantly said would be a required bid of a min of 40M.

All according to goal aka failcrapsite.com
