January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

It sounds bit harsh but CMS is quite replaceable .

He certainly is. He works incredibly hard(never seen anyone like him!) but he just doesn't score enough goals really. Plus we desperately need someone who can hold up the ball a lot better....It is the absolute key to the whole team! At this point I would take pretty much any of the 'big guys' being linked to us(Roberts, Bothroyd, Scotland), but we also need a CMS type player.

(I do love CMS by the way, I just wouldn't be too upset if we sold him)

Craig Mackail-Smith, I think. I know Reading were interested in him when he signed for Brighton, not too sure why they would want him now though.

Oh right, when pingwing chimed in I thought you were talking about someone who plays for Southampton :o

He wishes:cool:

He can go I suppose, I just hope we can keep hold of Liam Bridcutt...though I have always been confident, as he is only 5'7...and our next FA Cup game is not on TV now so we can keep the secret a bit longer;)

You do know he's been at Sheff Wed for the majority of the season and scored a whopping 1 goal (it was against us), that was his first goal in 40 odd games iirc.

I didn't know that!

1 goal in 40...that probably makes him more suited to Brighton if anything:(:p

We do desperately need a big guy up front though...even if he isn't a goalscorer, we just need someone for the ball to stick to. He would probably get CMS scoring a few more goals as well.

5m and you can have Luciano :)

Sahin to Dortmund appears to be all but done and could be announced tonight. Can't say he'll be greatly missed - slipped down to 6th in the CM pecking order and was earning ~£80k per week.

It's a shame things didn't work out better though. On paper it seemed a great deal; a hugely talented player in need of games and a natural fit into how we were going to play. I'm not sure he fancied the fight though (rumours that he refused to play with a broken nose) and as a result I don't think Rodgers trusted him in his favoured deep lying midfield role. He had a couple of decent performances but other than that, games seemed to pass him by.

Maybe had he been our player we could have persevered with him, in the hope that he'd adapt but it didn't make sense with him only on loan.
