*January Transfer Window 2014/15 Season Rumours/Signings*

Surely the point about Schurrle is that he is very different from any other player Chelsea has and is a useful plan b.

He attacks the box and gets ahead of the ball. Salah could be that player but seems to prefer the wings to getting in the box to score.

Definitely on a free, or a small fee so they can get him earlier (now, rather than waiting until the summer for a Bosman)?

Even if it were a bosman, wouldn't Liverpool have been due some kind of development fee which would have been a few £100k? Anyway, by all accounts Milan paid a small fee to take him now rather than waiting until the summer.

Not sure what to think about him leaving. In the youth sides he stood out more than Sterling for me and even in Rodgers first season, although he didn't have the same impact as Sterling, he still looked like he could be a very good player. He's not kicked on as much as I'd hoped though and with the players we now have in the positions he plays, he was always going to find it hard to get into the side. That said we shouldn't have let his contract run down when he is or will be worth a fairly decent fee in the not too distant future.

Pretty sure Suso was offered a contract, he just didn't sign it.

He's got a history of being a little tool, good riddance tbh. We don't need that type around.

When was he offered the deal? The start of this season when he was down to 1 year left on his deal and it was clear he didn't have a realistic chance of getting into our first team any time soon.

He should have been tied down to a longer deal prior to going out on loan last season.

And what history of being a tool? There's been question marks about his work rate on the pitch but I'm not aware of him ever causing any problems

I think pogba said something like, if you play rafael in midfield over paul pogba I'm off to turin to play first team football. And don't come knocking in 3 years time with a 77million euro bid.

konoplyanka linked with spurs. pretty sure he played against us in europa and was pretty decent.

we need a striker though not another midfielder even if he's a winger from what i gather.

With the striker issue though, I'm just really not sure what our options are. Who do we get in? Soldado was supposed to be "the" signing to finally end our goal drought up front but hasn't really lived up to what everyone thought he was going to be (I still think he looks like a good player, for instance mid-week he played very well the sitter aside).

I'd rather see Soldado stay and Adebayor go. I wonder how Dzeko is feeling? He's probably going to be third in line now after Aguero and Bony, only Jovetic behind him. He'd be the ideal replacement for Adebayor if you ask me.

i'd like dzeko but wages are a stumbling block. best scenario would be a loan with a view to permanent deal with city subsidising his wages then strike a deal on a low fee to make the wage. bit like adebayor really.

Except Adebayor was useless and so much trouble that City couldn't even give him away. There would be plenty of takers for Dzeko that'll pay City a decent fee and offer him big money too.

i agree but if he's settled in england and city wont sell to a rival then who knows. we've been linked with him before but how much there is in any of it is a guess.

We are still really poor at chance creation.

All the blame is being levied at Soldado but many of Kane's goals were self created.

This is a problem going back to AVB: our strikers create space or lay on goals for whoever is in the pocket but no one does the same for them.

It looks like Origi will be staying at Lille until the summer after all. The reports are saying that's because Rodgers has put his faith in Borini, Balotelli and Lambert but I suspect it's more a case of not being able to shift one of Borini or Lambert.

On the one hand laugh that it would be glorious but cry because it won't happen.

On the other hand laugh because it's never going to happen but cry because it would be madness to let De Gea go and we shouldn't prioritise another attacking player.

RM won't sell Bale and will buy De Gea anyway I'd guess. What RM want they usually get. I'm hoping it happens just so I can ask Sunama what he thinks to LVG 'getting rid' of DG ;)

Why?

Also, I think RM would be silly to sell. Who are they going to replace him with?

According to the rumours Reus

I really wouuldnt be that surprised if it did happen ( woukd be absolutely gutted about losing De Gea), irrespective of how much they have improved their gk option, IF they end up with Reus their wing / offensive play wont have got worse, and they could also have as much as £30m in their back pocket too

Terrible from a Utd point of view, even after getting Valdes on a free (3 years max at the top of the game?) even if no money changes hands
