Do you think the writer of the article was right about you only paying around £5m so far to Spurs?

Well bargained if true, Im just surprised Spurs agreed to such a small % being paid upfront for a high profile /high value signing but good on Liverpool

Isnt that the done thing with transfers nowadays, all the big clubs pay in installments.

Yes - but I had thought (maybe wrongly) that majority of payment was upfront, ie 75-80% and the rest is on appearances/title/cup wins, where as this transfer seems exactly the opposite

Also, lol at £20m for Diarra. I reckon Real are just doing it to save on printing a new name on their kits.

Diarra said portsmouth were only a stepping stone or some words to that effect so this doesn't necessary surprise me. Le havre, Arsenal, Chelsea, Portsmouth and now Real Madrid and hes still only 23. I'm sure Mido's record could match that. Something like 7-8 different clubs by the time he was 24

I was thinking of posting that awhile ago - but two things stopped me

1) Usual Real **** - it happens on a daily basis near enough

2) In the article (or a similar one) it mentions the signing will happen if kept quiet - RM obviously havent kept quiet (as if anyone really expects them to)
