Hi guys,

Over the past few months every time I've been waking up if i open my jaw I get a massive popping/clicking sound coming from the right side of my jaw, it lasts for about 5-10 minutes and will pop/click everytime I close then open my jaw. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to stop it?

Thanks

Yeah I get this a lot.

Last time I saw a dentist they told me I should have had braces when I was a teenager but it'd too late now.

You might be clenching or grinding at night, causing muscles over activity, and laxness in the mobile ligaments of the disc and the jaw.
See a dentist, get professionally assessed, no medical threads, they might make you a biteguard to wear at night, this might help the situation.
