Jersey track layout unveiled (for 2013 season)

I'd really love to see a street circuit in Tokyo. Mix up a bit of the Wangan (inner-city motorway) in there for high speeds and overtaking, then going down to street level for the heart-in-mouth driving precision, I think it could be good viewing, and good driving.

Lol at Bernie:

Q: Will the New Jersey event make the 2013 calendar?

A: No, definitely no. Well, I'll have to go and have a look because they've been a bit slow. But if they can get it finished, then yes.

It's exactly what he did with the Austin track. They started to bicker like children and help up development, so Bernie just publicly stated that the race probably wouldn't happen, and bosh, suddenly all the workers turned back up and the track development stepped up a gear.

Typical clever Bernie 'get what he wants' tactics.

Oh yes, I know that old trick... What amused me was his complete turnaround from "definitely no" to "don't see why not" in three sentences flat!

Called off for a year :/

The inaugural New Jersey Grand Prix, scheduled for 2013, has been shelved for a year over ongoing construction delays.

Plans were in place for the first race on the Weehawken track to take place next season, with millions of dollars being spent to transform 3.2 miles of city streets on the Hudson River waterfront.

Foundation work was due to begin in early autumn but is yet to get underway and engineering permits are still required before any work can go forward.

There are also concerns remaining over funding the project and Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone said he had reached the end of the road in terms of waiting for organisers to get things sorted out at their end.
