Jimmy Kimmel's First Look: iPhone 5

But people do that with Android too? How many people upgraded from an S2 to an S3 just because it was new, and didn't actually need any of the new features?

I know a lot of folks with iPhones, they are common as muck nowadays, and none of them are up their own arse about it. They just see it as another phone.

What's that specifically got to do with "Android" though? This kind of behaviour, while not exclusive to Apple products, is definitely strongly associated with Apple products.

iPhones are common as muck, not everyone is up their own arse over it, but the ones that are make up for the ones that aren't as they simply must let everyone know how great the phone is.

It's the whole "preachy" aspect of it that people tend to get annoyed by, the regular verbatim quotes of Apple marketing slogans as reasons why their Apple product is "the best".

Any set of fanboys are as bad as the other, Android has them, Apple has them, no doubt Windows Phone and BlackBerry have them too. My personal experience is that online at least, Android users seem to be more hostile to iPhone users than the other way around.

I think the shopped Samsung S3 advert says it best...

How many more of these sort of threads are going to crop up? Actually it's obvious it'll never end, I just wish there was some way of filtering out the constant apple vs android bickering, it's just a phone. I've had loads of android phones including the S3, and also every iphone that has come out too, I love them all for different reasons, but the constant generalisations like, "Oh that's the sort of person who buys this or that" are just ridiculous.

really WHO CARES?

The old editors dream, ask hundreds, only show the 5 that fell for it.

I still think is bad to not even know basic thing about the phone you use everyday. IF someone handed me a 4s I could tell right away that it was the same screen size, weight, and other basic things, it doesn't take a tech savvy nerd. Also one dude actual said it had 2 Camera (One on the front) how stupid do you need to be not to know your phone had a front facing camera.

In the world there are lots of clever people, lots of not so clever people, lots of simple (or as you say stupid people). Does it really matter if they can't tell the difference?

Does that make us better people than them because we can laugh at them for not being able to tell the difference, i just don't get it.

I really hate this sort of humour, why laugh at other peoples expense, maybe they're not that intelligent, but the fact that people watch videos of this sort of thing and it amuses them is even worse I think.

It' probably on a par with watching (and laughing) at the Jeremy Kyle show.

I just don't understand how a person cant tell its the same, I understand if you never used the phone or don't own it, but if your using a phone everyday for 1 year and you don't have a clue of how it feels in your hand and so on..... I dont think I am any better then them I just cant believe that people are this clueless to say.

I'd be interested to see where Apple go next after the iPhone 5, it looks like they're running out of ideas other than improving what already exists and making it thinner. Am I right in thinking they've taken a step backwards with the battery life compared to the iPhone 4 (as they did with the 4S)?

As an HTC owner, if given the opportunity to upgrade to the iPhone 5 I probably would, but it baffles me why so many people have followed the iPhone from the beginning and picked up every rehash along the way. Tiny improvements over the last 5 years have led to what seems like a great phone, but do they really need a slightly better version every year?

I really do believe the 4S was released as Apple didn't have enough time or innovation to produce something distinctly better than the 4. If they did, why not wait an extra year and wow everyone with a great update, rather than something that is marginally better than their previous release?

shows exactly what type of people own iPhones :)

You wouldn't get an Android crowd making that mistake.

lol The reason I like the iPhone is due to their App Store, and I agree with some people say how Samsung S3 is far suprior than the iPhone in the spec side. But what Samsung can never compete/have is the iOS. The App Store makes the difference on everything.
