Got an interview for a new post and promotion from Senior Executive Officer to Grade 7. Bricking it tbh. Only found out yesterday so not particuarly well prepared.
 
Hadn't considered going 'Alpha' - it might just work. Saunter in, look at the two women interviewing me, ask when the "boss man" is arriving and tell them to get me a tea with two sugars.

.....or maybe not :)
 
Tell yourself if they didnt want you to get the job they wouldnt ask you to be there.

Im sure you will do fine, if asked anythign odd, think before you speak lol..

Yep. Need to know what a Grade7 is.

Also, just try your best - you cant do better than that. If the right people interview you and they like you, then you have a good chance.

In any case, there is no point in "bricking it" as that will almost certainly lower your performance during the interview.

Thanks, sorry G7 is a Civil Service grade/rank.

Standard grading structure in our dept is, from low to high:

AA - Admin Assistant - mostly redundant grade now
AO - Admin Officer
EO - Executive Officer
HEO - Higher Exec officer
SEO - Senior Exec officer
Grade 7
Grade 6

---Senior Civil Service---
Grade 5 - Deputy Director
Grade 3 - Director
Grade 2 - Director General
Permenant Secretary

No, there isn't a G4 :)

Actual job I'm going for is IT Service Manager - will be responsible for all IT provision to the department, running the contract with the outsourced IT provider.
 
Ok-ish, I think. Well, they were smiling at the end.....or it could have been a grimace.

Or trapped wind.

Sadly interview was only part 1 of 2. Now have to do a half-day assessment with some external bod including role play. :(

I have a feeling it's not the kind of role play that I'll need 1d20 for.
