Job interview over the phone

Ok just thought I would let everyone know whats happening and show that I'm not abandoning the thread. Anyways its been over 2 weeks but I still haven't had my interview, unfortunatly i received my email yesterday and its not until the 14 March.
Pleased I still have the interview just a little disappointed in how long I have to wait for it

If someone wanted to interview me on the phone I would tell them they are an arrogant ****! Let me come down and talk to you face to face. If they don't have the time or willingess to do that then I wouldn't want to work for them. **** sacrificing my time for someone who couldn't give a **** who I am, or to even fully meet me in person first. I would also want to see them and get an idea of what sort of people they are before deciding to work for them.

So the job is for a CSP and you think it's wrong to do an interview over the phone?
You are weird.

14K a year for a call centre job with the AA?

That's absolutely rubbish, not worth it mate.

Im 20 so 14k will do me nicely as I have no rent to pay, no bills. Nothing at except paying for petrol for my car!!

Anyways its better then my £50 a week and I would much rather have a job than be a bum by not working and doing sweet F.A

I had a telephone interview for orange once and failed.

I called up to ask them why and they said that my answers to the questions hadnt been good enough.

They had asked me to give an example of good customer service I had given and I replied 'I saw an old lady who was unable to carry her basket and was kicking it around the store. I went over to her, asked if she needed help, and picked up the basket and went through the whole store with her while she shopped up to the checkout'.

They said on the second callback that it wasnt a satisfactory example of customer service because it would have just been a normal part of my job. I literally thought **** you, like orange's customer service is anywhere near as good as mine was in my supermarket job.

More like it was because 'We genuinely dont want people who bend over backwards to help their customers working for Orange'.

Chances are your answers were not as good as someone elses.

Ok its my interview today after 2 months of waiting for it. Any last minute advice for me!

I have been told by someone who works for them that they will test my geography knowledge so I have been looking at maps of the uk.
Also i have to try and sell something to them
and also how I would deal with a certain type of customer
I am pretty confident that I know how to handle most of these questions

I have my suit hanging up ready to get on, nails cleaned, had a shave.

Any last minute tips before I go for it? Starts at 12.45

It's the AA mate, they hate people wearing suits at interviews and expect dirty nails to show you're not afraid of hard work and all the HR people there have beards, even the women.

Oh no! I was a bit late, ah well, good luck anyway :p

Ok just got back not that long ago and I dont think I could have done a better job.

Had to do a listening test to where I had to write a customers information down and change details of what they already had to upgrade, then I had to sell a holiday to them with extras which I managed to sell including persuading them to upgrade to 1st class and buy theme park tickets (America was the chosen destination) after completing this I had to do a geography test and locate the different cities on the map. I managed to get majority of them but got stuck on a few and had to guess where abouts they were.

They then took me into a room and asked some basic questions to why I think I would be good at the job, What did I expect from the job all those plus circumstance I had worked under (pressure, working as a team, individual etc)

I think I managed those and only asked if I could go back to one to which they said it didnt matter as the reason i gave for going back to it was a good enough answer (said I was an easy enough guy and got a long with most people, question was when have you ever had to work with someone you dont like).

They said they will let me know as soon as possible and should hopefully be no later than tomorrow, one of them even said that I hoped I had left on a high (one that wasnt in the final part of the interview) so that gave me some confidence.

All I know is if Im unsuccessful I tried my best and couldnt have done anything else to get it!

Will keep you updated when I receive my email!

Cheers guys

Sounds like it went well tbh, its understandable to leave without knowing much about how you went! I find that I get better comments from the interviews that I walk out of confused as to how I did lol.
