They ill get into my suit, which is a couple of months old (sep-ish), Primark but very nice, black with a blue shirt and silver tie, i wore this for w wedding and i looked pretty smart so... had my hair cut this morning so im going to wax it up make it look the seckz..

I really want this job, somehow i dont think i will get it, but not the attitude im going in with, this job is mine and im gonig for it..

Anyone here got any GOOD advice on how to keep calm and last min advice on the interview itself..

Cheers,

James.

just remember the interviewer may be as nervous as what you are. its a two way street in terms of asking questions etc so be prepared!

Best advice I was always given was to stay calm, they don't bite and as as many questions as possible....an interviewer would prefer you to ask questions, this gives them the impression you really are interested in the company...

Every interview is the same, they just lay them out differently. Go in there with a clear head and try and answer every question. The best way i found it was if i couldnt answer there questions, be 100% honest with them, and add 'but i am 100% willing to learn' lol it always seems to work :)

Good Luck Matey

I do that, i have an answer to that 'Im the type of person that if i dont know the answer ill tell you i dont know it, but ill ask you or try my hardest to find out that answer'

Usually impresses them, anyways, off for a shower, speak shortly.

I agree with that too....honesty is ALWAYS the best way round mate...the employer dont want you to say 'yes i can do such and such' and when it comes down to doing it, u aint got a clue and look completely stupid lol

Adopting a relaxed posture in the interview room will help you keep calm and focused :) It's hard to concentrate on the questions if you're not sitting comfortably.

Slide slightly forward on the chair, knees apart, feet at 90 degress, hands clasped behind your head. This helps your breathing and exudes confidence. Try it now and tell me it's not a winner. Go get em tiger.

It works wonders for me and im doing it now :D

It went crap me thinks, i really didnt think it went well, went in a suit, jacket done up, looking smart, answered some questions well but one question i just made a mess of, what a loaf of crap..

Oh well ill put it down as experience and move on, lets see if i get it.

They're all a learning experience, if you don't get the job ask the employer for details as to why, and for some advice on your interviewing technique.

They're not expecting you to be perfect. LEt us know how it went.

Was it a call centre or an in-branch role? They're are usually a lot more picky when it comes to the in branch roles.

Good luck though mate, although the company are a bit **** :p.

I sit on the other side of the desk, just done one today in fact.

Don't worry about getting a few questions wrong. Sometimes the way you answer is more important than the answer.

I ask technical questions and say at the outset that i expect some to be answered incorrectly, because I want to gauge a level not expect someone to know everything.

That's true, I was shocked when I managed to take a peek at the interview sheet that's used at NatWest. Most of the questions relied more on how philosophical you are with the answers and how you put them across more so than how relevant your answer actually is.

the best advice i got was "remember they're just people too"
helped me tbh, wasnt nervous and all went pretty well. got me the job too

Thats true as well, i'm having just as much fun as the guy / gal on the other side of the desk lol

Its not a task i relish. I don't mind the interviews but picking one person knowing you have to potentially upset 2/3/a few people is not pleasant.

I was on an interview panel a couple of weeks ago, and I swear I was more nervous than the interviewees. It was really difficult as in the end we couldn't decide between 3 of them and had to thrash out a decision that night!

In the end we just went on gut instinct as they all had similar qualifications and experience.
