Just when I had given up on the idea of a work placement for uni I get an e-mail from one of the places offering me an interview on the 21st. First things first I wont be in the country on the 21st I will be on holiday with parents until the 22nd.

Im half tempted to contact them and ask if would be possible to be interviewed on the 22nd as the experience would be great and on the other hand I'm tempted to just contact them back and say I have decided to do my last year of Uni as it would be good to get it over with.

What would you do?

Firstly, unless the place is turd do the placement. Placements equal the holy grail of relevent work experience which will help you get a job further down the line.

Also however, doing the interview after getting back from holiday may not be a good idea if you are going abroad, as Jetlag is a nasty thing.

I can't stress enough just how much it helps you in your final year of uni and getting a job.... Without wanting to sound too much like I'm bragging, I have a fantastic job now with tons of benefits that pays lots and I would NEVER have got it without the skills I learned on my placement and the year of industry on my CV. It gives you so much in terms of experience and skills that uni just can't give you.

I agree. A placement is very important. Its quite possibly just as important for getting a job as the final year. So to sum it up;
