For the first time, I'm struggling to find skilled dev staff via job ads.

Linkedin and Indeed have been my chosen sites for advertising in the past but im getting nothing from my most recent even after spending good money.

Linkedin is giving me an abundance of applicants from India, Egypt etc but nothing local despite the job having a location. Indeed just gets me college students.

I'm aware this might be a lack of talent in this specific field in my location but I've never found it as tough before...

So, job seekers where are you looking? Does Linkedin do it for you? Are you still using indeed or more specialist boards?

Dev staff as in programmers? If so it's almost all by word of mouth.

Stack overflow careers is probably more respected than LinkedIn. Are you in Glasgow?

Yep, PHP, for example. The company is based in Glasgow.

I'll try stack overflow, hadn't even considered it! I've exhausted my network of contacts at the moment.

The two places you listed generally - Indeed and LinkedIn. The former because it is an aggregator I've found useful in the past, the latter because it seems effective for 'passive searching' (being contacted by recruiters), more so than the traditional 'upload your CV' type boards.

I would concur about the number of foreign applicants coming via LinkedIn as I am currently recruiting for a role advertised there.
