I bought this album ages ago but only picked it up again the other day when I was bored and what an awesome album this is. I've been working my way through a few of songs, trying to pick out some licks/riffs/solos that are actually within my reach, but to just hold back from trying to ruin it is just amazing.

Gnaah, Hands in the Air, If I could Fly and Just Look Up are all fantastic.

If you haven't heard this album and like a bit of Satriani I'd definitely check it out.

On another note, anybody else realise that this guy is now 50 years old? Blimey. Last I've seen of him was 10 years ago on the G3 in Denver DVD which I only got a little while ago.

I know, but to be honest I didn't realise he had been around as long as he had.

I think I'll have to check those albums out, ISLiS is the only one I've got as far as I can remember.

I'm getting the tab book for Chrimbo which will be very handy, looking forward to giving some of the others a go.

Is it just a repeat of older stuff? I have only seen G3 Denver 96 and live in San Fransisco, which was fantastic.

I'd love to go and see him live, but from what I can tell everybody just stands there gormlessly watching his fingers fly about the fretboard - I'd rather just get in there and mosh like a nutter!

I often wonder how artists like him feel about stuff like that, does it bother him that people are just intent on staring at his technique? Sometimes I feel it's a bit of a shame that he doesn't get into a band and get a different following going - can you imagine how awesome a band would be with Satriani on lead? Amazing. I mean obviously he's completely happy with the instrumental career, but it would just be cool to see what he could do these days in a rock band as a whole.

Anybody tried his new album btw? Looks like he released one earlier in the year.

Just a heads up in case anyone missed the previous posts regarding this, but there is a site that has pre-recorded backing tracks available for free download so you can spank yourself silly to them :)

I think my next attempt may be Love Thing, quality track :)

Cool, thanks. I might have to take a trip to HMV later if I can get out early enough. ;)
