I got told the news that he had died a few weeks ago. Another friend rang me at work and, sure, it hit like a bowling ball to the stomach but it wasn't until today at his funeral that it really dawned that he is never going to be in my life again.

He suffered a massive stroke whilst getting ready for work and never regained consciousness. He was only 36 (3 years older than me) and the worse part of it all is he got married just 3 months earlier!

Just got back and his wife is putting on her public face but God knows how she is coping.

I'd like you all to raise a virtual glass to my good friend Martin. May he annoy the other people in Heaven with his eclectic taste in music.

As bad as it is, he did at least experience many of the best things of life including finding love, and despite it being cut so short, he no doubt died a happy man having just got married. It's a shame he won't get to settle down though.

Very sorry to hear that. I attended a 25yo's funeral yesterday. His daughter is 2.

The younger they are the worse it gets. Anything short of 70 seems like an early checkout these days.

I had dinner with him literally just before Christmas and I asked him how is Honeymoon went.

This sucks. I admire his wife's faith.
