Just bought Borderlands 2 form OCUK and steam says code invalid!

15 years of entering codes and this wasn't common sense?

Well, least you finally figured it out.

Because normally it doesn't matter. I never put codes in with caps on and I can't say I've ever had a problem.

If the code screen was auto changing lower case to upper case anyway why would you even consider putting caps lock on?

This is a valid point.

Personally, I would have tried caps lock anyway as a "you never know" type thing as experience tells you that sometimes, it is the simple things which sometimes work.

It is just a confusion, if it auto "caps lock" the characters then you would imagine it would just work, otherwise the feature is a bit pointless. It is not his fault at all and I would have done the same to be honest with you.

Not really the OP's fault, I've never had steam care about me not using capitals before, or anything that requires codes for that matter. Infact a few years ago before Xbox Live got the big dashboard update, the code submission thingy ma bob on there didn't auto cap, so I'd always put a code in that says something like XJT78-55JTK etc etc. as xjt78-55jtk and it'd still work, that was long before they auto capped.

It is the OP's fault.

You would at least try it after inputting it in lower case so many times to no avail.

Thanks, like you say it "auto caps" so i don't see how me having caps lock changed anything:confused: it physicaly didn't change the letters, and by the 2k forums a fair few people have had the problem it makes no sense they might as well put under their codes even though when you type our codes they are in upper case you still have to have caps lock on.
Thanks

You do relise when i typed it in it was upper case lets say it said CDH in the code when i typed it i put in CDH not cdh, you physicaly can't put it in lower case! caps lock on or off they both come out CDH.
Thanks

First of, I'm glad that it worked, of course.

But still the solution leaves me puzzled. I don't even know any more for how long I've been entering these codes, but why on earth would I need Caps Lock? Never come across this before.

I've always just pressed Shift while entering the code, and not once have I had any difficulty. Why should this not be sufficient any more? It makes no sense!
