Just bought the MS wheel... did I do the right thing?

Has anyone tried on of those things that you sit on which has a bit to clamp the wheel onto? Quite enticed by the wheel but have nothing decent to clamp it to which makes quite a bit of difference.

Comparing it to the Logitech wheel I used to own for playing GTR on the PC, I found it was no where near as enjoyable. The Logitech one with GTR was excellent. You really had to work the wheel in fast turns and could really feel proper resistance - the force feedback felt 5 times stronger than the MS one.
Your mate could not have had it plugged into the mains adapter then, the motors in the wheel are ridiculously powerful.

I would really like to get one of these for Forza 2, but feel that sitting on the sofa with it just won't work well enough. I had a play on my mates one the other day, who has it clamped to his desk and I think that is the only way it could be used, securely fitted to something.

i think you must have forgotten to plug it in because i was always fighting against my ms wheel on pgr3!

Be nice to see a few more wheel users in the next time trial event on the forums.

If I could get anywhere near the times being posted I would :o

going to have to get a proper seat/mount for this thing..

Hmm, thats interesting, I wll get him to check. I also noticed that his gear lever didn't click, is it meant to?

Unfortunately there aren't really any alternated Kreeeee, personally I'd say you should just go for it! You won't really lose any money by selling it on if you're not impressed.

all steering wheels are gimmicks, not only is a controller better, they cost far too much and they lose their fanciness after 1 week and are usually stuck sitting in a corner gathering dust
