So I just bought this brand new SSD. But to me it looks used, am I being paranoid or is this what new intel SSDs look like?

It's a intel 520 series 180gb. I can't see it stating anywhere whether it's aluminium or not. It was sealed in cellophane but that doesn't make me believe that it couldn't have been re-sealed. It's mainly the scratches around the screw points that really make me wonder

My older 80GB X25-M looked like that underneath. Mine didn't have the screw type scratches though.

I suppose you could boot it up and run SSD life program to see how many times its been turned on?

it doesnt really matter if it works as it should and it has the full warranty, the scratches could be from the factory? idk,and if its an aluminium housing then those watermark marks are normal, plug it in and run atto benchmarks and what neovo says run ssd life

although updating the ssd's firmware will reset the boot up count in ssd life back to 0 so it doesnt guarantee anything really
