i was looking in the clearance section for a cheap graphics graphics card for a mate who's girlfrined has just bought a pc from a well known shop ( i'll say no more )

he wasn't after anything expensive , just something that could play some games . it had a x300 in it ( lol ).

ive got an x1800xt myself but i thought it was a great backup card so i bought 2 :P a good deal or what ????

if they are b-grade items then you will be gutted if they are faulty and you have to send them back at your own expense. happened to me before thats why i never bothered with b-grade kit ever again.

The X800GT is always equal to or better than the 6600GT if I recall correctly, it used to be more expensive too, but it could be cheaper due to being on clearance. It doesn't have Shader Model 3.0 support at all, but since you're only after a back-up card then it doesn't really matter.

In my opinion at least, you got a decent bargain there. :)

It means "if I recall correctly." I should cut-down on the acronyms to be honest, it's kind of lazy to use them outside of an IM or SMS environment. :(

yeah well like i said , i was originally looking for a card for a mate of mine so he could play some games possible with me when he's at his girlfriends :P

that looks pretty good to me. so i decided to get 2 as i could use a spare card if mine goes t*ts-up.

It's not a bad budget card at all if you're not after high-resolutions with antialiasing and anisotropic filtering in recent titles, so I would say it'll serve your mate well.

nah he wont be after to high a res. dont think he even knows what it means lol. but it be good enough for Enemy Territory . been trying to get him on that for years :P

and any new games should be playable on lower res no probs

I love B-Grade stuff as it can offer quite a saving - but im local to ocuk so can have a look at what im buying before i hand the cash over :)

Thats the deal with all kit you buy online though, not just bgrade or clearance. I'm still waiting on a shipping refund from March when they had that crazy x1900 offer.
