I don't know why I'm writing this here, everybody else does it so I may as well. Guess i'm just wanting to write it down.

Basically we've been going out just shy of 4 years and we got on so well, but now this morning we've broken up I knew it was coming and we were suggesting going on a break in August time for a year.

The thing is i'm not leaving for Edinburgh til August and we live together, I don't really have any other place to go and to be honest I wouldn't want to go anywhere else as I like my place and my space.

It just really sunk in when I got back home tonight and I just feel so down, most of the day I've felt quite fine but still knew it was just suddenly going to hit me. It's going to be a hard few months.

Aww sorry to hear that You'll feel like **** right now but it will get better

It will be but if you knew it was going to happen then at least it wasn't out of the blue.

No doubt some of the boys on here will tell you to go out and get laid, but I personally suggest using the next 2 months to hang out with friends if you're leaving at the end of it. Not only will they take your mind of it and get you out of the place that obviously holds many memories, but they'll give you good times to think of instead of bad ones when the time comes to move.

Hope you feel better soon mate.

Thanks people.

I know my opening post is very undirectional and not really asking anything, but I just thought it'd be good to write it down. Also I know i'm not giving any specifics as to why we broke up but it's just kind of embarassing to write about on a forum on the internet. Sorry I can't really be more specific.

I split up with my girlfriend of four years last year and its tough man. I hope you get through it ok mate. If you wanna chat add us on msn. All the best.

Mate, I moved to Edinburgh from N.Ireland to go to university a few years ago. Being a Belfast boy myself you'll get plenty of attention over there. ;) There are loads people from all over the world in Edinburgh, in fact I only knew 2 Scottish girls the whole time I lived there (nearly 2 yrs). It may suck now, but chin up fella it won't come this September. :) A fresh beginning with new people in the most attractive city in the UK is a good way to start.
