Just finished Babylon 5 Series 1-5... my life now feels empty. *POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

we never see B5 in high def, given how poor the transfers to dvd were they would need to redo all the sfi effects to make them the same format as the rest of the film, and i can.t see them spending that sort of money on it. tho ifthey did i be first in line to buy it

B5 is, in my opinion, the best SciFi series that has ever been made. I'm a big fan of the Trek, BSG etc but B5 really had it all. The whole show just inspired such awe in me back when it was first televised. I could hardly wait for it to come on every week. Such perfection too in that it has a start, middle and end. JMS I salute you.

RIP Andreas Katsulas (G'Kar) and Raymond Briggs (Dr Franklin).

I've watched the first episode and it hasn't grabbed me yet. Looking at that viewing order should I be going back and watching "The Gathering" then?

Have you watched the recently released 'Lost Episodes' with much improved CGI.

They were both quite good (the 2nd one especially).

Although some of the first series episodes were poor they start to hint at the major plot arc for the rest of the series and are worth a watch. Personally I'd watch the series' first, then watch the movies since they expand on some things mentioned in the series that they didn't have time to show more of.

I didn't rate Thirdspace or River of Souls much since they were standalone, although I thought In the Beginning was very good. Crusade got better at the end and Legend of the Rangers was basically ruined by the "kung fu gunners" for me to take it seriously.

It was annoying there won't be anymore "Lost Tales" as I was looking forward to the Telepath War story they planned to do as the telepath intrigue was my favourite part of B5, mostly as Bester was my favourite character.

As Antar said it'd require even more work that Star Trek. The VFX for B5 were done for 4:3 but the show was filmed in 16:9 which is why on the DVDs any shots with VFX in them look so soft (even for DVD) in comparison to those that are purely set pieces. They'd have to redo the visual effects from scratch.

Which is a pity as I'd love them to be redone as it's my fav sci-fi after BSG :)

Might have to re-watch B5 again soon, only ever seen it once and absolutely loved it. As long as you can see past the cgi it's amazing.

Why is it that possibly the best show on tv has one of the worst title sequences. It didn't start out too bad for season one but it seems every season since has tried it's hardest to have a worse title sequence than the season before. Season 5's is just terrible.

Sorry to dig up this old thread but I've just finished watching the entire thing and I agree with the title, MY LIFE IS EMPTY!

I always had the impression babylon 5 was that weird/crappy sci-fi show but honestly, if you get over how 90s it feels (in fact it felt more 80s to me) it's really good. It does have it's really good moments like Inner Light in TNG or The Visitor in DS9.

No idea why it took me so long, I've seen every episode of star-trek/farscape/stargate/andromeda/etc.
I'm now working my way back into Sliders, never finished watching it when they aired it on TV, oh Quinn you're so dreamy.
