I have now finished watching all 3 series of Battlestar Galactica and cannot find the words to express my dismay that it's now ended. A mate introduced me to the pilot and I thought "Hmm that looks decent" and put it onn my to watch list. Then I got hold of all the series a month ago and form the first couple of episodes of S1 I was completely and utterly hooked... addicted like some crack-junkie. I have on a couple of occasions on my days off got up, started watching BSG, then finished watching it as I went to bed. Sad? Yes. Could it be helped? Nope.

I think the peak of my BSG-induces orgasmic fit was reached in S2 when the Pegasus arrive don the scene... that was literally the point when I thought "Oh God this is one of the most fantastically epic things i've ever seen". Season 3 was nowhere near the pace of S1 and S2, it was far slower, delving more into backgrounds and emotional states, with a couple of "filler" episodes I found dissappointing. However it was still pretty solid.

However in summary it has to be the single most immense sci-fi series I have ever watched in my life... everything now seems lame in comparison. Roll on Season 4, if they ever decide to stop producing episode before they complete the story I think I may just well commit seppuku.

Any others here huge fans of the series?

<3 :D

Have you watched all the Stargate SG-1 seasons?

I think there's 10.

I haven't seen Battlestar Galactica yet but I love Stargate-SG1.

Agree with pretty much everything you've said there. Know exactly how you feel. Me and the missus did the exact same thing, got hooked in by the pilot and then just watched the whole of the first two series in the space of about a week, like a pair of crack junkies :D

Gutted when Series 3 finished, although it was a lot slower, still kept our interest with ease. Can't wait for the fourth but then that's it I think :(

Awesome series, one of the best I've ever watched. I hardly ever watch TV, to hook me in like that there must be something pretty damn good about it!

You could always do what we did and try and ween yourself off it a little by getting into The 4400, that's also a good watch ;)

There were 22 eps ordered (including the 2 hour Peagasus special) is what I first read...

the new bsg was up until mid season 2 now with the "cliffhanger" Season3 ending its probably hit rock bottom.

SG1 was good until they went scfi at the start of season 6, then it turned in to 4/5 seasons of long drawn out agonizing crap. The last episode was good though.

ratings where high all the way through season 3 coz they moved it to the 10o clock shows (thats in the states mind) in the uk it was a steady increase

If I enjoyed Firefly A LOT (as in, best TV show I've ever watched by far) would I enjoy this too?

Does look quite good, and gets lots of good reviews, so I may just have to give it a go.

Fantastic show which filled a massive hole left by Star Trek when it finished. I was a little disappointed by Season 3 which had some very average episodes. Suppose you can't expect every season to get better.

BSG has lots of potential and has the ability to have some outstanding storylines. I hope the writers don't mess up the new season.

Oh and I agree with Chong Warrior on 4400. Superb show but I heard the show is finished for good which I hope is nonsense.

Why do people say it started to get weaker after the 2nd season break? I didn't think it was that bad.

I found it got better halfway through Season 2, and I thoroughly enjoyed the end of Season 3. Besides the occasional bit of filler tripe it's good stuff.

If you've got a gap and can't wait for it to be filled  why not try Babylon 5, ok, the CGI may not be at the same level of BSG (hey, we are talking 10yrs+) but the story arc is very good and the characters are engaging.
