As title. I've just replaced me X1900XT with an 8800GTS. Easy to instal, removed ati drivers, ran driver cleaner, slung the 8800 in, did a basic setup and all is fine so far. for comparison I ran a few benchies:

X1900XT:
"03" 21887
"05" 13304

8800GTS:
"03" 25399
"05" 15242
"06" 8779.

Tried COH with everything ingame maxed out at, 4 x AA, 16 xAF, 1680 x 1050, and in the performance test I got

66fps average
166fps max
26.5 min

So far VERY impressed with this card and the IQ is as good, if not better, than me old X1900XT. I haven't played with any settings other than AA, AF and image quality, and NOT overclocked it yet. I'm using the 97.44 forceware drivers btw.

Nice, mines sat at home waiting for me now, practically exactly the same system as you, went from an X1900XTX myself. :D

get the card clocked :D

Was able to hit 11500 3d 06 marks, roughly ;)

Not bad for a GTS really

That is really good. I thinnk the phenomenal overclock you have on you e6600 must have helped with that. :D

Could you tell me what FSB/volts/multiplier you have on your CPU, and what clock speeds you have on your 8800GTS, to hit that speed please?

edit: ignore, just spotted the link in your sig.

cheers Trox, is that the speed you have it at 24/7?

yea the 3.72 ghz in my sig is what im running 24/7, if you go into the nvidia control panel you can increase the Fan speed, default is 60% ive got it up at 100% pretty impressive how far these clock on air alone.

Im just waiting on a bracket for my swift gpu waterblock though :)

Pfft! Real men run at 3.8ghz 24/7 ;)

*goes off to beat 3dmark score*

3.72ghz on 1.38v or 3.8 on higher volts and higher temps :(

Im lucky it can work with such low volts or it would be far too hot, hopfully once its lapped itll help, but im not to sure itll do much apart from void my warrenty ;)
