Just got the 3 red lights on my 360 :(

Well it worked for 5 minutes, but now the red lights are back.

It literally brought it back from the dead, after a few squeezes.

But its freezing again and after a restart the light were back.
 
Few tips that brought mine back to life, although I'd STRONGLY recommend you take it back as soon as possible.

Blow through the vents at the back, that definately worked for me on many occasions. Check the power brick, keep it in a cold place.

Hug it, love it, squeeze it, scr, er no, don't do that. But seriously, take it back asap.
 
It doesnt have to go back to MS atall, people seem to think they have to send it back to them and thats rubbish, you have a contract with the retailer for 1 year from purchase, you only deal with MS when you have swapped for a replacmement and that replacements 1 year guarantee goes past your original purchase date. Every time you get a new xbox from the reatiler you have a years warranty on it.

That is not quite right.
Your contract with the retailer is for up to 6 years.
So even if your 360 is 2 years old and dies you can reasonably expect a refund, replacement or repair.
I had a repair at retailer cost on a 3.5 year old cooker (it was a lot of grief and I had to threaten him with trading standards etc).

Basically you bought it from the retailer so any issues that arise are between you and them. A product should (under your statutory rights) last a reasonable period of time which can be up to 6 years depending on what a judge considers could reasonalby be expected from a device.
For example a £3000 TV could reasonably be expected to last you at least 5 years so if it dies after 4 you could reasonably expect the retailer to repair it or refund it in full or partially.

Your "warranty" is from date of original purchase, it doesn't revert every time you exchange a product.
 
Can anyone with experience confirm if gamestation will exchange it for a new one if I take it in? It was bought in august.
 
My mate took a launch one back the other day and got a new one from gamestation. I took my launch one back to Game 2 weeks ago and they also replaced it.

So you should be fine :)

P.s The 360 in virgin megastore had the 3red lights today :p
 
Dammit, i cant find my receipt.. i imagine you need that if you expect the retailer to replace it.
 
Well my 3rd 360 has just died tonight....Just as TDU was about to enter In Game the game froze and corrupted GFX appeared.....Rebooted, tried 3 more times and it hung up every time.....

Now i have the 3 lights of death and now the 360 can't even make it into the dashboard....Day before GoW too......Gutted....Was actually considering another 360 for the bedroom, so this might force me into buying another until this ones replaced......

Surely if you have had 3 console die with 3 red lights and got it replaced each time your doing something wrong?

The DVD Drive is for discs mate :p
