Don't have one of these myself but I'd be interested in what you think of it as I'm tempted to get one myself as are a couple of my collegues at work.

Edit: enjoy the grand prix on your huge yacht :D

ermm hello ;)
sorry for the (huge!)delay

I've found it a great dvd recorder, setup couldn't be easier, just connect it up turn it on, thats it tuned in and ready to go!, obviously you set you own a/v configuration, but for an 'ease of use' buyer you can't go wrong! and after that the working of the player is very straight forward too.

I have only used the normal dvd features of the unit so haven't gone into all the uses of the unit.

I noticed and increase in picture quality over my old sony dvd recorder, we were 5/6th's into the starwars set when this arrived so we watched 'return of the jedi' on this, I immediately noticed the better picture quality over the other two 'original' starwars films, the text scroll at the begining looked much sharper and more colourful, and the rest of the film just looked sharper than the previous - so I'd say the upscaling is a useful feature.

Quickly recording stuff is bliss compared with the sony - this is obviously due to the HDD which is easy to navigate and set.

Not exactly an in depth review in know!, I certainly would recommend it I've had troubles with it and its been very easy to use and picture quality is excellent, I use it through HDMI@720 max res for my 37"tosh.

The only thing I wish it had was a digital coaxial audio output, it does have optical which I am using, I felt on my old sony the coaxial had better punch and feel to the sound than the very clear and accurate but slightly clinical sound of optical - personal taste that one, what the difference would have been on the panny 'if' it had one - who knows.

Concidering its features w/ fairly large (160 gig)HDD it's price is very good can be had for £238 now - Bargain !!

go get one :D
