As per thread title, ordered collectors edition for £20 :)

I was holding off ordering this, as I have far too many games to play and not enough Uni time, but at this price I couldn't resist.

I played the demo and it was my first time playing any UT's and I instantly fell in love with the DM-vehicle mode.

What's the online community like? Do you guys regularly play? Any recommended servers?

The online community is absolutly MASSIVE.

Also as you are knew, you will get totally destroyed in online play as most of the players are highly skilled!

My advice is play single player, complete the game and raise the level each time and go through it, once you have done that 2/3 times you will be decent enough to compete with online players. Most are pretty hardcore.

or just go straight online and learn from there...I haven't been thrashed that badly at all.

I was going to say it's quite small :p. Smaller than UT2k4 but it seems to be expanding still.

I would recommend playing the sp through once just to introduce you to how the different gametypes (especially warfare) work. In the long run playing against good bots is only really an exercise in learning how to stay alive (which I am not that good at :p), as they don't act that much like humans. I think it's better to learn against real people for that reason.

As I've mentioned in the other thread if you like warfare try http://justwarfare.com and join some pickup games on irc. Good way to see how things are done. Ironically they now do vCTF pugs and stuff as well. There's a good guide to warfare on the forums somewhere but I can't view that website at work

Yeah I take it back mate, I've played UT since the original so I was pretty much generalising it.

It is growing though as you said, price is dropping and it hasn't been out tooooooo long.
