One of my favourite film series. Finally have it on HD-DVD release a full 7 days early. :D

The production quality is amazing and you can certainly see the extra detail in this version. I have only had a quick look at it but from what I have seen I have instantly found my self just being amazed by it.

I will post comparison screenshots of scenes which show the HD-DVD's off best compared to the DVD version. Now from the looks of it it provides the same extras as the ultimate matrix on DVD.

I will also do a mini review of any HD-DVD extras that may be present. Now I just need the Lord of the Rings movies on HD-DVD and I will be a happy camper.

This I think is a must buy on the HD format and certainly bolsters my fledgling HD-DVD collection. This by far seems the most complete title that I have purchased so far for the new HD format.

edit 1:
wasn't sure if it was best to put in home cinema or in movies. If a mod feels it will be better in movies then please move it.

edit 2:
on a side note I am looking for a new av setup to complement my sony TV and XBOX 360 what setups can you guys advise. budget will be probably £500 - £1000 all inclusive.

apologies for the lack of an update on this one. I have been trying to screen grab images from powerdvd to show the difference in the DVD and HD-DVD.

By the looks of it everything I have tried has failed. If anyone knows of any software that can grab an image I will post them as soon as possible.

Failing that I will try and take some pictures with my N95 but don't think they will do the images justice.

Still I have compared a few screens so far on my PC and the level of detail that is shown more sharply is simply amazing. The more HD material I am watching the more I want to get something like SKY HD (far too overpriced in my opinion for the equipment)

I really want the Matrix on HD-DVD but not the other 2 as they are terrible money grabbing wastes of celloid. Shame its only in the packs but i guess they realised they wouldnt sell any of 2 + 3 on there own.

May have to get it just for the first one, really interested in how much better it is than the dvd.

Everytime I set up a Home Cinema System for a Frend (or re-vamp my own) I stick the Matrix in and Jump to the 'Lobby Scene'! :D

I bet its even more involving in 1080p with Full HD-DD  That'd feel like you were realy there!!!

Gotta get me a couple of things!...

1, Sony - PS3 for Blu-Ray (oh and Games)
2, Toshiba - HD-XE1 HD-DVD Player for HD-DVD's
3, Pioneer - VSX-AX4ASi-S HD Home Cinema Amplifier to pipe it through my TV (only have one HDMI on me telly).

and a few 'Essential' HD/Bly-Ray Movies to vege in front of!

Anyone want to lend me the money (on a no-repayment 0% interest scheme :D )

My 1080p projector arrive yesterday and I got to see the lobby scene on a 7ft wide screen. By the end I was exhausted from sensory overload and had a semi on.

Cracking box set.

Too much detail dude :p

Which projector did you go for? Haven't seen any proper 1080p units for anything less than silly money.

An Epson TW1000. It came with a 'free' ps3, which took around 350 quid off the price after I sold it. Still over 2k though :/

On the plus side, movies and games look the nuts :)
