Its something that ive never seen round here... I was on my way into town with my dad to go to Argos so that he could get himself a new fishing Umbrella, and to do our weekley shop.

We were heading down the road leading to the junction where argos is... and behind me comes an Ambulance speeding with its blues on... so I pull my car over to let the Ambulance pass us and I indicate to turn into the junction and as we're going past I take a gander at what was happening... and I was shocked to see that a child had been knocked over, I was around 20 metres away, but I couldnt see past the cars untill I went over the junction... I gotta say I felt mortified that something like that could happen round here, its such a small quiet town and its shook me up rather badly :(

Please join me in prayer for the family of the child.

Mate, thats terrible, no one should have to see that. Im not suprised that it has shaken you up, its a horrifying thing to see.

 I hope the kid's ok!

Well i suppose it'll never play with trafic again.

Yes it is sad but parents should take care with their children next to roads, even if they are quiet.

dude, the dons' don't look kindly on new members posting personal attacks

Well actually I thought his comment was pathetic.

The OP has just seen something awful and there was just no need to leap in on the first reply with something so unhelpful.

Ok fine, keep it to yourself in the future.

If you've got nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. It usually works wonders here.

no need to knock his feelings towards religion, the guy didn't have any feelings AGAINST the kid or anything, he just thought that praying for him was more self centered than helpfull, he could be right, I'm not going to pray but I still hope that the kids ok

Someone in my mates family was involved in a car crash last night, he was at the pub with us when he got the call.

Let me tell you we weren't preying for his family member to make ourselfs feel better....

Imagine if I had said that to my mate after he got the call.

By his comment he meant that praying will not help - in other words he's stating he is an athiest. The OP implied that everyone should 'pray', pretty much thinking that everyone is probably religious etc.

I think he's right though, praying will not help. And because they go unanswered for whatever reason the only reason you're doing it is to comfort yourself. But praying is better than doing nothing, it's the intentions that count.

There is no need to derail the thread any further. Nor is it a thread to be discussing religion or philosphy. Back on track gentlemen.
