Cool dude

definitely something people need to remember, sometimes.

Yeah there is definitely a time where the normal rules do apply but getting out and going mad is a great way of seeing things differently and pushing boundaries.

Have to agree , taking shots on the fly can give some good results.

See oportunity , point camera , press button , cross fingers .........

Might not be Lomo but it works for me ;)

I agree with that, whilst there is a beauty in perfectly composed/exposed etc photos, the randoms ones can sometimes have more meaning because your snapping with instinct rather than planning.
I used to hate it at college when I would take a pic that would mean a lot to me, and my photography teacher would say "the main object is too far to the left, and the horizon is at the wrong angle...you get D!"

I suppose thats understandable though. You're on a photography course to increase your skills and he's only doing what we would do here if someone asked for comments / critique :) Its a tough call sometimes. People post pictures here and I often post some comments to help them take better pictures and yet they could simply be posting pictures they really like and wanting to share that with others. As you say pictures can mean a lot to the photographer but that may not come across to the viewer which in turn can make the viewers comments seem harsh.

Yeah I totally agree, I know my teachers were doing it to make us better photographers, but I suppose its the whole feelingof not being able to do what you want to do, and failing because of technicalites even when you've put your heart into it! Its like my dog walk pics, i just took them because I just thought the scenery was really beautiful, however c + c is accepted, because I want to develop my skills as a photographer. :)
