now they think Im connecting my pc to the houses electricity (true), telephone socket (kinda true - router) and water supply (???), and said if it blows its going to take out 3 houses......

My parents that it was uber cool. They couldn't believe the detail on the rads and res. Had to go back to air due to that.

thats why you should have them in front of the pc before you tell or explain anything to them. i hate to imagine someone trying to explain phase change cooling to their parents.

If it's anything I've learned is never tell parents anything about computers as most times you get too technical forgetting they're normal users and just confuse them.

While I was building my mates PC over the summer I got his mum to watch as I poured water into the reservoir, she didn't really get it and almost threw me out the house.

You can understand their concern.

Picture a person living at home (I assume you are young ish) telling the home owner that you are 'playing with water' and the mains.

That aint going to go down to well!

i wonder how long before some idiot starts campaigning against watercooling as it is not safe in their eyes. if it happens the sad thing is their voice would be the one heard and the voice of the people who understand watercooling and use it safely would just be a whisper to the authoritys who think we need more laws to look after us.

*edit* just told my dad that some people use liquid-nitrogen in their pc's and he laughed at me......
