Hi Guys,

I am starting to lose my rag now.

I got a brand new Western Digital HD today.

Whack it in.. wanting to install Windows...

But guess what... my DVD-Drive doesn't work. It only works when I unplug the Hard Drive. With the Hard Drive plugged in, it doesn't get detected! What's up!? It just hangs at the JMircon PCIE-to-SATAII/IDE RAID Controller or whatever!

Motherboard: Abit AB9 Quad GT

Please guys.. I need help. I need ot Game!

You connecting them via the same IDE cable? (if the HD is IDE)

The jumpers may be both set to master, one will need changing to slave or both to Cable Select.

Apologies if its a Sata drive.
 
It's a SATA Drive..

I've been crawling the web for some answers... Many people say disable the JMircron RAID. I've done this, it no longer hangs.

But now my DVD-Drive still has no power. It does before the Verifying Pool but after it seems completely dead!? I have no idea.
 
Tried all combinations, to no avail.

I am so jarred off. 4 months without a computer. Got a new Motherboard. Tried it.. Hard Drive went.. Saved up, got another HDD.. and now this problem.

I think the next thing to do is to source another drive.
