As the title suggests, which one would you go for? I'm not incredibly knowledgeable concerning phones, however the only obvious advantage of the k800i is the higher rated camera (which I'm not that fussed on). The W850i has a free 1Gb mem card and potentially better mp3 playback (which I do like).

Any thoughts? Chairs! :)

EDIT: The latter is cheaper as well.

Depends what you are after really.

The k800i is newer thou, and don't let the 1gig mem card be much of an advantage, they are about £15 online anyway.

The W850i is actually the newest of both handsets; and inccidently the one i prefer from the two.

The main problem with the K800i is it uses that darn joystick that is so prone to breaking, it did on my K750i too.. :(

The W850i also is the smaller and better looking of the two IMO...

Really ? thought that was the W950i  getting confused here.

Hope so, love my SE phones. :D

I have a k800i as I don't use it for music at all (have an ipod). The camera on it is fantastic which would be enough for me anyway.

Really depends if you want music over a better camera (baring in mind that the k800i is still fine to play music on, even has shortcut keys etc).

Dunno about memory cards for £15 though? k800i's use M2 memory cards which I though were still around £40-£50 for 1gig? The w850i still uses the old duo pro cards.

So i am going to guess a K850i will be next :D

Nope, the next major high-end phone from SE will be the W880.. A competitor to the Nokia 8800 :)

That looks really ugly.......at least in your pic, in the link it looks ok.

Yeah I suppose, but where it really shines is in its size.. only 1.9mm thick!

There is also a rumoured successor to the K800 due in Q2 '07 with a massive 5.1MP Cybershot :D

some how i don't think it is 1.9mm thick :D

I recently had the same dilemma but opted for the w850i today after having a little play with it in the Carphone Warehouse, not bad for £210 sim free.

Well I had the choice out of these phones but I went for the W950i. It came this morning and its taken a lot of getting used to when coming from a W800i. The W800i looks about 10 years old when compared to the W950i in terms of user interface, I love it.

Where the W950i shines is its multimedia. You can actually watch videos on the phone at full screen and they look damn good as the phone supports upto 650kbps whereas my W800i did like ~150kbps. The only niggle is the fact its got no camera but if I want a camera phone I'll take my W800i. I loaded on the Borat trailer and it looks near DVD quality in my eyes.

My only complaint with the phone is sometimes it takes awhile to do thing like open up SMS inbox or load up media file. But if you want a very decent multimedia phone i'd recommend this one.

Does anyone know what kbps the w810i can do?
