Anyone else noticed how low quality the video recording is? Me and my mate both have these phones and there low compared to the w810i. Normal pictures are great though.

You get two options when videoing in terms of quality - either 'Record for picture message' or 'high quality video'.

I think its fine for a phone, They seem to market the phones for the camera or music abilities, maybe they will release a handycam branding one day - H800i anyone? Maybe when portable storage is a lot cheaper than today.

I thought that it was very dissapointing that SE decided not to up the video resolution. Having said that, I hardly ever use the video recording feature. If I wanted decent video recording then I perhaps would have went for a Nokia N73 or something along those lines.

hi, i am very interested in getting this phone but am put off by lots of people saying it has bad video, is it posible if someone with a k800i could upload a short video clip with some movement in,

thanks

Damnit, it's true, it's been my main niggle ever since I started seeing video and photo samples... It's pretty poooooooor, I can see little increase in standard between this and the w800i. Might they suddenly decide to release a firmware upgrade which boosts the size and quality? It really should be N80 standard considering how good the cam is...

Afaik, its all to do with the way that the CCD chip works. Seeing as the cybershot chip that Sony have developed is a imaging ccd, i guess its video capabilities arent that good.

If you record a lot of videos then I can see why this would discourage anyone, but myself, i take more pics than anything and, unless you're transferring them from your phone, they arent too bad.
