I've just installed Kaspersky IS 09 on 5 pc's, but now none of them can use the live radio streaming on bbc's website.

All can still play the prerecorded radio/tv and watch the live tv streams, but cannot play the live radio.

In both the pop out window or the main iplayer window, it says 'connecting to media'...'ready' so i press play (it usually starts by itself aswell) and the same thing happens (connecting... ready) but it never actually starts.

I have found by stopping the 'banner ad blocker' in the IS controls, then starting the stream and then starting the blocker again the streaming works fine. So i thought by adding *bbc.co.uk* to the white list in the ad blocker section this would solve the issue, but it doesnt!

Anyone got any idea, i could do without having to instuct people to disable parts of the software! any help much appreciated

TIA

Well spotted, I'm also running KIS 09 and haven't been able to listen to 5Live recently - I didn't spot the correlation. I just thought the stream was being a pain in the rear.

I'll probably try that this afternoon and see if I can get them both playing nicely.

i have this problem with kaspersky is 09 and kerrang radio. When i had itunes on my xp install, i had problems listening to online radio from that as well.

all i do is disable protection and re enable it once the radio starts playing.

i should probably ring / email kaspersky and see if they can help.

I haven't tried it yet but from what I've read I'll just probably end up disabling the banner ad blocker as it doesn't do much for me anyway - blocked 0 after months of use.

Kaspersky Tech support responded with the following, and it works.

open kaspersky
click the settings button
go to network
Ensure that 'monitor selected ports only' radio button is selected
Click select next to this
untick ports 80 and 433

restart browser and problem solved

Cool, thanks for posting. Yesterday I found that disabling KIS, starting the stream, and then re-enabling KIS immediately after worked with no interruptions.

UDP traffic on port 433 was obviously being blocked. Mystery solved.
