keep on losing icons on vista taskbar

hey im running vista home premium 32bit on my sony vaio VGN-FZ38M and i have noticed this problem with my power, volume and network icons on the taskbar.

THEY DISAPPEAR

then i reboot the laptop and have to go into propeties to put them back but sometimes they are greyed out.

anyone help me with my problem

I'm assuming you haven't set them to 'hide when inactive' in taskbar properties?

i havent set it to hide inactive icons and today well just, the volume and network icons are like grayed out i cant select them.

help :S
