Keyboard for a portable piano?

I am aware there is a similar thread on the first page, but my requirements differ and I do not wish to hijack that thread.

My Dad is looking for a keyboard that will pretty much be a piano that will fit in a car. He has been playing the piano for about 40 years so wants something that will feel and sound like one to play. The ability to hook to a (windows) computer would be liked but not essential.

It's not going to be used much as he has his piano at home so there is no point in spending big money on it so £200 will be his limit, first and second hand.

Is it possible to hook it up to a stereo amp via phono? This is a big point to get decent playing levels.

Thanks, Trif.

Heres a good site for reviews:

I don't know anything about them though just learning myself :)

I found that site in my searches for a full review. Closest I came was for one for the model with the hammer action on each key where they gave a mention that this one was good as well, especially for the price.

If it's got headphone jack output, which it looks like the first one has, then you can just get a 3.5mm jack -> phono connector and plug that in as an input on a stereo no probs.

That was the plan with that one. :)

I showed my Dad it but he is thinking it is too big to be practical, barely fits in his car, and no where to keep it where it can be used (although he is a (real) upright in the living room.

Are there any good 6 octave keyboards similar to this one? :)

Why is this one so cheap? http://www.maudio.co.uk/products/en_gb/ProKeys88sx-main.html

Seems perfect (minus the physical size of it, 6 octave is more ideal) so have put it forward as a possible candidate but I would like some user opinions.

Sorry to drag this up, but I've been looking for a digital piano for my wife for the last few weeks. That keyboard is cheap primarily because it is semi-weighted, not a full hammer action. If your dad plays a real piano he probably won't get along with that very well.

If he hasn't bought anything yet then have a look at the Casio Privia range.
