So I got a set of keys to my first ever flat today (student accomidation)

Not moving for another 5 days or so but it has struck me that I have literally no stuff to put on the walls or the such.

I have:

Computer
Chair
Guitar Amp
Guitars
Xbox

Literally nothing else to take with me. I've got about £50 to buy some cool stuff to put on the walls or so any suggestions? I've thrown away all my posters from gigs and that but allposters don't seem to sell old tour ones.

My personal tastes lean me towards a lava lamp and a leopard print rug :( I probably should get something more suitable.

When I say key's it's more like a credit card. Only got a 'key' to open the post box.

I can't remember the last time I was this excited about doing something. Bit nervous about being older (22 years old) and just starting uni in halls but glad I only have Monday and Tuesday in work until I quit!

i've still got my keys from last year :p - didn't have time to give them back at the end of last year. :D

i only had one poster last year, but without it, my room looked awful!

When I moved in with my partner 2 years ago I moved from my parents with not much at all in fact it fitted in the car. Now we are looking to move again and there is so much stuff I'd need two vans/proper removal company. Then again I'm not a student!

Good luck! I'm 21 and had a well paid job at Barclays but hated it with a passion. I hated everything the company stood for and always thought I could do better.

I've now started a year course at my local college to finish my A levels and taken a minimum wage job at a local supermarket.
I'll be in the same situation as you next year so let me know what it's like starting uni being a little older than most other students.

I've got to say that although I don't have as much money and can't have the luxuries anymore. I am so happy and determined to prove people wrong and do it for myself.

Somebody said to me recently that you don't appreciate education until you stuck doing a job you hate doing with no prospects.

Away back to the flat....good luck!! :)

Yeah, I dropped out in the middle of my A Levels. Started working for our local authority on a decent enough wage. Got fed up of it and decided after a typical boring work night out to go for it. Filled my uni application in hungover and have not regretted it what so ever.

Good luck. I know for a fact that I'll do better now than when I was 18/19 and not had the experience of a boring job.

What uni you going?
