Kinect: "your order is now being released for packing"

I managed to have a go on Kinnect today... It was as crap as i expected, it was more fun watching the rep trying his hardest to show how wonderfull it was when it was obviously not.......

I wouldn't mind trying Kinect out, like just having a play for an hour or so. I just haven't got the room for it in my bedroom where my Xbox is. :(

It really is awful i played some game where you have to pretend your holding a steering wheel and something where you had a pet that if you randomly waved it did tricks.. The response time is shocking, the tracking is not great quite a few times it either missed what i was doing or did something different. If you move fast it has trouble keeping up. If people walked behind me it kept having a fit....When they loaded up the fitness game i decided enough was enough....

The entertainment watching the rep trying his hardest to sell it was amazing. I lost count of the amount of times he said "Its not meant to do that"....

I played a demo setup the other day and got to say it was good fun, games will improve over time as always and i'm looking forward to future titles as well as some of the soon to be released at launch titles, my preorder is intact, providing you actually have some friends and family it's a worthy purchase despite a few glitches tbh.

Overall

+ something different enough to entertain
+ some decent looking launch titles with good reviews appearing

- pricey
- Playstation Move fanboys will hate it regardless of what it can do
- PC fanboys will hate it becasue they have no real mates to play with only virtual buddies
- Wii diehards will state how Nintendo invented everything from breathing to farting and everyone else copies

Sorry for the above stereotyping :D

BTW I like many others do own 360, wii, ps3 and PC and like to play with them all on and off so like to think i'm not biased.

Oh and for anyone else who has a Kinect coming I ordered Dance Central & Kinect Sports also which look to be the best launch offerings.

Mine has been posted from elsewhere, was unsure what to do with the order then I received the dispatch notification - seems the decision was made for me!

Really?

Cause you kinda just listed trolling comments as 3 out of your 4 disadvantages.

Not at all but whichever gaming forum I visit I can't read about a game on X platform for more than a few seconds before coming across comments in the above format I posted, I'm not trolling just stating very sad facts which more often than not happen to be accurate, personally I just like to play games full stop I don't give a monkeys which system it's on from a £140 quid Wii to a £2000 monster gaming PC. I stand by what I said Kinect is different and fun for friends and family but certain sectors of the gaming community will dismiss it just because it's not on X platform.

And how many of the Xbox fanboys did the same for the Wii and Move?

Do you know what they say about throwing stones and glass houses?

Your post puts you at the level of every other fanboy, when the simple truth of the matter is the only way to get the best gaming experience is to have every console, all exclusives and proprietary accessories like Kinect and Move.

My main console is my Xbox and I still think KINECT is a load of crap, so that's your theory of fanboyism out the window isn't it.

Just pre-ordered with a new 4GB Console, and Kinect Sports.

I actually think it looks pretty good fun, so am quite looking forward to it.

Well I can play Wii and Move fine, but I certainly don't have the recommended 6ft from TV space that Kinect needs, plus the space either side.

i cant see how you can use Move/Wii fine and not have the space to use Kinect, unless of course your motion control gaming is done without...... erm.... moving.

Sports Champions tells me to be 8ft away when i'm playing table tennis and as most will be able to imagine, it also needs space so i can Move left or right as well as forward/backwards. then add 2 players to that mix.

yes.. i've got it on pre-order.
