Why is an Islamic state such a threat? Does Egypt actually export anything the West would miss or not be able to obtain from elsewhere? Are you actually saying that if other crap hole countires in the region follow suit we will have a Islamic Coalition of states or something they will go all Jihad on the West? If so, just lol! If they become hostile, the West (read America) will just take the oil wells. I highly doubt they would allow a massive 'terrorist' coalition to deny them their oil.

Occupy Saudi Arabia for starters and pretty much dominate the Air space over the whole gulf area. Yes there will be limited supplies getting out but it will be going mostly to the military in that area as we will be in WW3 and USA has other sources of oil for the domestic market although it won't be enough at current demand.

Flood the Dead Sea by digging to new canals through Israel, it would take a few years but very do-able.

Get rid of the canal completely. Bomb it to bits, deep enough so water floods in from both sides. Et Africa becomes a very very large island.

I think part of the problem is I don't trust any of our leaders to do what they should in a fair and reasonable manner. If we could support the people there and allow them the strength to find themselves fair and just leaders then I could see something good coming of the revolutions.
