Ford Focus 1.6 Ecoboost – I will take to garage - but have been busy and am intrigued in meantime- so anyone have any ideas please ?

I get a "knock" - when I brake lightly - mostly when from around 25-40 mph - if I brake lightly at higher speeds - no knock and if I brake harder at lower speeds no knock.

Knock is slightly delayed as in not immediately when you press brakes - slightly after

Knock seems to come from around the wheel areas but not always and "moves" - as in sometimes rear right, sometimes rear left, sometimes from front

I can't for the life of me think what could be causing it

Knock only happens once per brake

Don't get any knocks or noises going over bumps, speed bumps etc etc

Both front and rear pads are less than a year old

Have tested on a slight slope and car rolls so don’t think callipers are sticking

any ideas please and much appreciated

pads have no springs to keep them in place and probably move around in the carrier.. the knock you hear is the pad hitting the carrier when it moves slightly... or a worn bush somewhere.

Nothing rolling around inside the car?

Brakes or suspension randomly making noise on three of the car's corners seems unlikely (and it must be a fairly young car).
