Known issues with the A8N32- DELUXE

Hi i seen this on another forum and i think it may help here if we do the same .

Thay have put together a list of isseus with this mobo and explained how to fix it , Or give a progress report .

It looked somthing like this :

Spec :

A8N32- DELUXE

64X 2400 +

7800 gt oc

2 gig Gskill .

Issue with Known issues with the A8N32- DELUXE :

Cant get both sticks of G skill DDR to work at the same time . One of the USB port's on the rear had dust in it <<< made this bit up :D

Fix :

Non as yet but found out it may be a faulty batch of DDR . cleaned out the dust << made that bit up ;)

Proggress :

Trying to get help from other members and may have to send the RAM back .

Update :

I have sent the ram back and i have been told by another member to maualy set the timing of the new ram in the bios , I will try as soon as i get my new ram

--------------------------------------------------------------

As you can see it simple and may help others ( including me ) to fix known issues with this mobo , A one stop A8N32- DELUXE databse for A8N32- DELUXE owners and people thinking of owning one .

Hope this helps somone one day .

OK whos next ?

^^ what he said

You guys had or having any prob's ? post your thought on the mobo , so others can learn the good and bad things about them

Had this board for about 3 months now :

1. APM sometimes disappears from the bios.
fix: load 'set-up defaults' , or flash to latest (1009) bios

2. Vcore will not go over 1.42v
fix: Enable 'overvolt' option in bios (overvolts by 0.2v), don't forget to lower the standard vcore after taking into account the 0.2 v overvolt i.e 1.5vcore - 1.3 vcore + 0.2 overvolt = 1.5v

3. Graphics card problems
fix : Disable the 'peg-link' option as this overclocks your GPU by upto 10%

4. Failure to post.
fix : Don't rush to reset the cmos! Simply turn off the pc, leave for 10 seconds and then turn on. It should post now but will inform of 'overclocking failed' press F1 and lower the overclock or F2 to load setup defaults. If it does fail to post it is easier just to remove the mobo battery (located next to the pci-e slot 2) than to fiddle around with the jumper. Leave out for 30 seconds and then replace.

5. Cant use asus update
fix: None. This is caused by a conflict with creative drivers and the asus update tool. To flash the bios simply download the latest bios and rename it to :
A8N32SLI.ROM
copy it to a formatted floppy and during post press F2. This will flash the bios automatically...let it do its thing and only when prompted Reboot...DO NOT switch off/reset the PC while the bios is being flashed!

Thats all I can think of right now.

Very annoying "boot order changes when other bootable device is plugged in" problem. As far as I know its a bios v1009 problem but its very annoying, plugging in a usb drive/ipod/other hdd changes the boot order so on bootup you have to reorder the drives correctly to boot, doesnt help if you need to do these things remotely most of the time!

Update :

I managed to fix my ram issue with this mobo by going in to the bios with only one stick of ram and changing the timing settings to 3-8-8-4 witch i belive is the default setting for the HZ ram ,

(from top to bottom in the BIOS) 3-8-8-4. Cas set to 3, tras set to 8, trcd set to 4, and trp set to 4.

I still need to change some settings in bios to get it set up correct but the 2 sticks of ram are running .

Details can be found HERE

Hope this helps somone
