Kwik Fit MOT's

Very honest MOT's, but perhaps a little too honest for some. They nit pick about a lot of issues that a distracting chat might cover up at some garages.

If your car is fine, i'd use them with no hesitation.

This.. they failed mine on the headlight beam being too high. I checked the adjustment on the dash and they were pointing up at their highest setting. I was a bit peeved about that. Got home and checked the regs;

Where these are fitted the beam aim should be tested without altering the controls setting except where this would result in failure for beam aim being too low, in such cases the beam aim should be re-checked with the control set at its 'highest' position.

So technically they were in the right, but OH COME ON :(

The way I see it with Kwik Fit is. The guy doing your mot is normally just some guy who is getting paid the same if your car passes or fails it's mot. Smaller back street garages have more of an incentive to fail your car and reap the benefits, As the guy doing the mot usually owns the place.

Of course this doesn't apply to bigger garages.

Not a problem myself using kwik fit for an MOT if needed though.
