Labour unveils National Grid takeover plan - your thoughts?

    Absolutely, I see it as a careful balance. The less fortunate should be looked after, no arguements about that but the less fortunate should also understand as you say there is not a limitless money tree and the money comes out of someone pocket.

    A minor tangent here, but colour TVs didn't outnumber B&W until 1976.

    Meh. Everyone else we knew around that time had colour. With our B&W telly, we were the working class peasants of the town, even as late as the 1990s*!
    It still works to illustrate the point, though - Labour have a history of not doing very well with utilities, leaving a lot of mess for some other government to clean up, but don't take my word for it - Do it. Renationalise it. See what happens. I'll have a job either way.



    *I never watched TV much myself. I only remember Vic Reeves Big Night Out and had to Google the date it was shown.
