The dislike people have for R&B on this forum is such a cliche now. I'm no fan, but I don't feel the need to preface my posts with disclaimers.

My supposed 'disclaimer' was nothing to do with being a fan (or otherwise) of any style of music. It was simply an an acknowledgement of Labrinth being a tool (and a dislike of his own music).
I don't recall saying I like rap of any kind/era. I just don't have any particular dislike of it.
And yes I'm well aware of other bands/artists intentional mis-spellings, it's just this one in particular irks me for some reason.

You do realise that he wrote and produced a number of hits for various other R&B and Hip Hop artists from quite a young age..... and with his obvious intellect - I'm sure he would know that the word actually has a "Y" in it.

Even if he didn't know - which I doubt very much - I'm sure numerous people have suggested he change it once he started to achieve the fame he worked hard for.
And most importantly - I'd hardly call him a "Tool" - seeing as he had already made over a million by Age 22 - and he achieved it by working hard and actually doing it off his own back. Whether or not you see his music as boring / repetitive / etc is entirely your own taste...... I quite like it as opposed to the whiney / depressing Britis Rock and Pop that has been hanging around the charts for the last 18 months or so
