Land Rover Woes...

So my sisters 110 200TDi Defender has blown up. Picking a complete 200TDi Defender engine is gonna cost an arm and a leg, Discovery engines need a lot of work to fit in, and then i'd still need a Defender turbo...anyone know whats involved with converting to a 300TDi?.

far as i know the engine mounts for a 300tdi are the same as a 200tdi, gearboxes should be interchangeable also so should be a straight swap..

might want to sign up with the LRO forums and ask there though:

Cheers mate, i'll sign up...i know its quite a bit different under the bonnet from a 200 to a 300TDi but surely it'll all swap out with the right parts. I just need to know if its cheaper than tracking down another 200TDi lump...

Don't forget that any engine management electronics and all the fluid llines will be different between the engines.....
