Laptop crashes when I press the 'WiFi' button?

Hi all,

I installed an Intel Mini PCI Wireless card in a friend's Latop (HP/Compaq NC4000)

...and although the wireless does work - When I press the 'Wireless on/off' button - the laptop just freezes up.

Anybody seen this before?
