Laptop for a meagre budget of £300

I have been asked by two lovely females as what laptop to buy for a budget of £300. I myself was clueless, and so have come ambling to you guys for help!

Can I ask you kind people for some reccos?

Dell Inspiron 1545 from the Dell Outlet would probably be a good bet. Can be had for sub £300 with a pretty good spec.

The Dell Inspiron 15 can be had for £284 inc delivery. I have the same budget and its the best I have found so far.
