Hey guys, having a bit of a problem with my laptop at the moment.

So the other day i had my laptop on then all of a sudden it reboots itself and then wont get past the bios bit and says no operating system is detected.

It's a 3 year old laptop so shouldn't have failed =/

I have since removed the hard drive and tried it in my friends computer but it isn't recognized in his bios screen either.

I was just wondering if anyone knows how i could get it to work or get the information off as i haven't backed up my hard drive ( i know, stupid move)

So yeah that's about it, any help is appreciated

Thanks

When you plugged it into your friends computer, did you notice if it spins up or not? Either it doesn't spin up at all (flat out dead or power issue) or it spins up but is malfunctioning.

Sounds like it may need to be send off for data recovery if the data is that important but its expensive! If the drive remains undetectable then there's no way to get the data off without the experts opening it up.
