Hi all, bizzarly I'm eligible for a grant from a company i worked for 25 years back and they will cover a laptop upto £500. I'm so far out of touch nowadays that i don't know where to start and where to look

I need something travel friendly (the current old school brick is mainly used to watch movies while on holiday or travelling) and a decent screen for photo editing. I'd also like to resurect some of my old school games

Any ideas would be great. The grant people buy it and send it to me so needs to be from somewhere they can easily deal with ☺️

I’d consider a refurb HP or Dell or Apple laptop.

There are Apple M1 MacBook Air laptops for ~£500 and would offer very good photo editing but not amazing value considering the 8gigs of memory.

I’m a fan of the HP ProBook or Elitebook laptops but they tend to be more than £500.

I’d go for any 6 core CPU laptop with 16gigs of RAM and preferably has a screen with 120hz refresh rate.
Not sure they'd go for a refund. i can alway check ☺️

Hi all, it turns out they have a deal with the well known 'computer planet' high street chain.

Any suggestions from them? i can add £250 of my own cash making a total of £750
