Hi,

Having seen the offers on the 7900GTX this week, I have decided to upgrade from my 6800GT, especially as I have a 26" Samsung LCD TV arriving in a couple of weeks which will also be my new monitor.

My question is, as the TV will be running at a top res of 1366 x 768 would a 7900GTX be a good option, or would it be better going for a couple of 7900GT's in SLi? Or would a single 7900GTX be fine for a large screen anyway?

I'm assuming that as the TV doesn't have a huge resolution that the single 7900GTX would be fine, but just wanted to check before I order. I'm not that clued up on the benefits of SLi to be honest so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot :)

For 1366 x 768 a single card would be more than enough. Chances are your current 6800GT would also be good enough for that res in 90% of things.

Ah I see, well in that case would it be better to just go for a 7900GT as they are so cheap at the moment? Are they as quiet as the 7900GTX's, they don't seem to have such a large fan?

Yup a 7900GT will be fine at that res. save yourself £100, you certainly dont need a 512mb card for anything currently when running at 1366 x 768.
